Friday Football Picks

The 2nd annual Friday Football Picks has ended. After winning most of the season, and then dropping to 3rd, Willard comes back to win at the end. It was unbelievably close between Willard, Jack Flack, and Roget for first place, all 3 separated by mere percentage points, and all 3 picking games that finished almost right on the line the final week of the season.

Willard led most of the season, with Dr. G nipping on his hells. With Dr. G having a Denver Broncos-like collapse this season, Willard was in command. But Willard proved he was human, and couldn't keep up his 60% picking clip. He slowly came back to the pack, and Roget and Jack Flack took advantage. Roget had the lead going into the final week of the season, but couldn't hold off Willard. The final standings are below--

Overall Winning Percentage
1. Willard (53.03%)
2. Jack Flack (52.94%)
3. Roget (52.86%)
4. C-Money (50.00%)
5. Dr. G (46.97%)
6. Mr. Green (43.48%)
7. Hollywood (35.71%)

Friday Football Picks

Friday Football Picks returns today, with a bunch of picks from the college action this weekend.

Mr. Green – Overall Record: (0-0)
Ohio State (-21.5) vs. Navy: Ohio State is trying to prove that they are among the nation’s elite. And what do the nation’s elite teams do? Beat up on a crappy opponent the first weekend, and put up a big number. Pryor should have at least 4 total TD’s in this game.

Wake Forest (-2) vs. Baylor: Wake Forest returns Riley Skinner at QB for what seems like his 8th year as starter. Wake Forest still has a good defense even though they lost Aaron Curry and Alphonso Smith, and should cover the 2 points.

Oklahoma State (-4.5) vs. Georgia: Oklahoma State is one of my national championship pick this year, so that will suck for me if they lose Week 1. Oklahoma State has a very solid offense, and some question marks on defense. They still should be able to win and cover this game in Stillwater.

Roget – Overall Record: (0-0)
Ohio (+3) vs. UConn
Buffalo (+9.5) at UTEP
Purdue (-10) vs. Toledo

Jack Flack – Overall Record: (0-0)
Oklahoma State (-4.5) vs. Georgia
BYU (+22) at Oklahoma
LSU (-17.5) at Washington

Hollywood – Overall Record: (0-0)
Texas (-40.5) vs. Louisiana Monroe: McCoy's Heisman campaign will begin, and UL Monroe will be the victim on Saturday. Texas moves into Fla/OK territory this year as an elite team, and elite teams beat bad teams badly. Word out of Texas is that they want to prove that they are as good as Florida, so they plan on running up scores this year. Oh yeah, and McCoy’s stache is ballin.

Ohio (+3) vs. UConn: Sometimes, the gem picks are in the games that most people over look. We have a team in UConn who lost their star QB and WR and open on the road against a team that has bowl game aspirations this year. Ohio makes a statement in their home opener and wins this game.

Minnesota (-6.5) at Syracuse: I don’t understand this line one bit. That can be a bit scary, but if I can lay less than a TD vs. Paulus in his first start, there is no way I can decline. Minnesota should score just enough for this cover, even though they are not a great road team.

Hollywood: The Pussification of America Continues

Today, one of the top stories in the news is that the parents of the kid that Big Baby Davis plowed over after celebrating a winning shot in game 4 have demanded that the Celtics and the NBA apologize, stating that Davis was acting like a "raging animal with no regard for fans' personal safety."

This is just another incident indicating a growing trend that is taking our country by storm: People are becoming pussies. As I type this, I hear that Mark Cuban is issuing an apology to K-Mart and his family for uttering that he was a “thug” or a “punk.” Well, now there is a word we can all call you; “vagina”

Every day it seems, somebody is crying and demanding an apology from someone for doing something that, if they were a man, they would be able to shake it off and move on with their life. Whether it be an attempt to achieve fame and get their name in the news, or an actual lack of a penis and overabundance of estrogen in their bodies, people need to fucking stop.

Yeah, the guy was excited he just tied the series with a ridiculous shot. God forbid he act enthusiastic about it. How about instead of whining about his actions, you tell your spoiled ass kid to sit down and not be so close to the court. The kid’s like 11 years old and sitting courtside at a playoff game, neither he nor his parents should be complaining about shit.
And jeers also to Cuban. Fuck political correctness, you spoke your mind. K-Mart is a punk. You are one of the few people in sports who have the balls to tell it like it is, please don’t tell me you’re going soft on us too.

So as the sports continue this week, we will continue to see bitch foul calls, penalties for breathing on Ovechkin and Crosby, and guys getting in trouble for admitting he threw behind a hitter to send a message, even though he didn’t even come close to hitting him. What is going on with sports? Truly, it is a microcosm of what is going on in America. People are whining and crying and being little bitches, and it is considered ok. I only hope Big Baby Davis holds a press conference and people think he is going to apologize, only instead, he says something like “A. You should apologize for being racist by calling me an animal and B. Your bitch son shouldn’t have been that close to the court.” Of course, that will never happen. From athletes to owners to fans, everyone is becoming just like Davis himself; a big baby.
