Eagles Travel to San Francisco

The Eagles travel to the West Coast to take on the 49ers this Sunday. Both teams enter the game with a 2-3 record, and both need a win badly to get back into the race in the NFC.

The Eagles enter the game with some serious injury concerns on offense. Brian Westbrook and Reggie Brown will not play due to their injuries, and Shawn Andrews, and L.J. Smith are still banged up. The Eagles will most likely pass the ball 100 times this game due to Westbrook not being in the lineup. McNabb will have to make some plays and receivers like DeSean Jackson, and Hank Baskett will need to step it up as they did in the first couple games of the season.

On defense, the Eagles will have their hands full with the 49ers rushing attack, which features one of the better running backs in the NFL in Frank Gore. The Eagles were great against the run through the first four weeks of the season, but were ran all over last week by Clinton Portis and the Redskins. The Eagles will need to get back to what they were doing in the early season if they want to be able to stop Frank Gore. The 49ers lack the offensive power at wide receiver, and quarterback, so the Eagles will most likely make those players beat us. J.T. O'Sullivan will be making his 6th NFL start, and probably hasn't seen a defense that attacks like the Eagles. I expect the Eagles defense to bring a lot of pressure, and hopefully more O'Sullivan throw some poor passes, and I expect the Eagles secondary to take advantage and create some turnovers. The Eagles secondary has a definite advantage over the 49ers receiving corps.

It is sort of a must win in the early season for both teams, as both teams want to get back on the winning track. Nobody is very high on the Eagles right now, so let's hope the Eagles can have a blow out win here, to win some favor back for Andy Reid, and the rest of the team.
